|Safari Name||8-Days South Luangwa Walking Safari|
On arrival at Lusaka international airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist you with immigration and customs clearing then check in for your flight to Mfuwe, South Luangwa. The flight is on average one hour. At Mfuwe international airport a guide will meet you and transfer you by vehicle to Luangwa river camp, through colorful local scenes of villages, agriculture as well as bush. The camp is located on the banks of the Luangwa river overlooking a very game rich area of the south Luangwa national park and is ideally situated for the start of your safari. All rooms have a view of the river. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a scrumptious lunch followed by siesta before heading off to the park for your first game activity which you may opt to extend into a night drive. Luangwa river camp
Often you will get up before dawn so you’re in the park in time for the fantastic dawn light – the camp ideally has access to the park across the river, so it takes only a few swift minutes. You’ll maximize your time in the park finding many subjects to photograph from the very small to the very big. After enjoying a delicious lunch, you can choose to relax during siesta, read a good book or simply lounge and enjoy your surroundings. After a refreshing cup of tea or coffee and scrumptious cake you go back to the park to find even more in the afternoon and evening, returning to camp for dinner around 20h30. Luangwa river camp
After an early breakfast, a game drive through the park and across the river takes you into the exclusive Nsefu sector, which is recognized as a phenomenal game viewing area; taking you to Tena Tena. The camp sits nestled under a magnificent and thick grove of mahogany trees. On a double tiered river bank each of the 6 tents enjoys its own private view onto a long stretch of the Luangwa river. Tena Tena camp
During your stay you have the opportunity to drive or walk through the ebony groves or, depending on the heat and time of year, to explore further afield with an all day picnic drive to the salt pans that will cover different habitats and is an exceptional day’s safari. There is also the option of visiting the community at Kawaza village to experience life in a real non-tourist village. For the shoppers…there is tribal textiles for locally printed materials that are made in various items (bags, clothes, bedding and more); great place to pick up some souvenirs or gifts for friends and family. Tena Tena camp
Days 5 to 7
Mwaleshi is a short flight from Mfuwe; the views from the plane’s window you will enjoy include the meandering luangwa river full of hippos and a chance to spot other game amongst the ox-bow lakes. A ten minute drive from the airstrip will see you arrive at Mwaleshi camp. This owner run camp consists of four reed and grass chalets situated on the Mwaleshi river, a clear perennial tributary of the Luangwa river. The remoteness of the camp is enhanced by the lack of roads. Game viewing is primarily on foot and it is also possible to do a drive and walking day trip to the mwaleshi falls.the park is very remote and wild – a place for real bush lovers to visit. Mwaleshi

Blessed with awe-inspiring natural wonders, an abundance of wildlife, huge water bodies and vast open spaces, Zambia offers unforgettable holidays exploring the real Africa. Zambia is regarded as one of the most beautiful, friendly, diverse and unspoilt countries on the entire African continent. Aside from the majestic Victoria Falls, Zambia has more natural water resources than any other southern African country, including a myriad of other falls dotted across the country, not to mention the famous Zambezi River. The many National Parks offer great opportunities for observing Africa’s plains game and their attendant predators, whilst bustling urban areas offer a taste of eclectic Zambian culture. Discover the wealth of stunning destinations this friendly country has to offer. Not to be missed are the spectacular views of the magnificent Victoria Falls, followed by a safari.
Zambia’s game reserves provide pristine sanctuary to a wide variety of wildlife, and boast some of the best game viewing opportunities in the world. From the North and South Parks on the hippo and croc-infested Luangwa River, to the wide expanse of the Lower Zambezi, the vast and little-explored Kafue.
As if all the lakes and waterfalls weren’t enough, Zambia is also home to the magnificent Zambezi River as well as the Luangwa and Kafue river systems, offering great fishing opportunities, adventure activities and canoeing safaris. These are some of the most unspoilt and best-protected rivers on the continent and are home to much of Zambia’s wildlife.
Whether it’s the history and sheer size of Lake Tanganyika (the world’s longest lake) that draws you, getting off the beaten track at Lake Mweru, or taking in the secluded beach holiday atmosphere that can be found on the banks of Lake Kariba.
While Victoria Falls, not surprisingly, tends to steal the limelight, Zambia has an array of wonderful waterfalls, cascades, rapids, cataracts and flumes on the many rich waterways that dissect the country.
