Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Hotel Transfer
On arrival at Entebbe international Airport, you will be met and received by our representative who will then brief you as he transfers you to your hotel for overnight at Kampala Serena hotel 5* or at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
Day 2: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
After an early morning breakfast, depart Kampala for Murchison Falls National Park. That allows you an en-route visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking proceeding later for lunch in Masindi town. On arrival at the park, you will encounter a variety of bird species, monkeys, baboons, and buffalos among other species as you proceed for a visit to the top of the falls and later proceed to your lodge, relax for the rest of the evening, dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari lodge 4*or Chobe Safaris lodge 5*
Day 3: Murchison Falls
After an early morning breakfast transfer for a game drive where your guide will help you spot a great number of animals (all the big five) among others and bird species. Return for lunch at Paraa safari lodge and after lunch, you will take a 3 hours boat ride on the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls” This is also a habitat for many bird and animal species. It is an exciting experience that brings you very close to the rushing whitewater as it squeezes itself through the narrow crevice below. The resulting mist from the turbulence often produces rainbows. You also have a chance to hike to the top of the falls before returning to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at Paraa safari lodge 4* or Chobe Safari lodge 5*
Day 4: Murchison falls – Kibale Forest national park.
After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls with your parked lunch and drive Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley through Hoima, home to Bunyoro kingdom passing through verdant countryside tea plantations and traditional homesteads. You will arrive in Fort Portal town the capital of the Tooro kingdom late in the afternoon. Visit the palace of the youngest king ever crowned in the world according to the Guinness book of records (Tooro kingdom palace) for a cultural and historical brief before proceeding to Amabere ga Nyinamwiru a famous cultural site attached to the Tooro Kingdom where you will have an interesting twin story of this treasured waterfalls both claiming its formation. One has a cultural formation and the other geographical formation with stalagmites and stalactites. Enjoy the scenic views of the fabled Mountains of the Moon, if time allows, you will proceed to visit the crater lakes before returning for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale 3* or Ndali lodge 4*
Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park – Rwenzori Mountains National park.
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the chimpanzee tracking information office for a pre-briefing by your ranger guides who will then lead you into the rain forest tracking these primates (Chimpanzees). This forest is home to a large number of chimpanzees and other primates including, Red-colobuses, Blue, Red-tailed, grey cheeked mangabeys, birds, and butterflies. The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora. This will see you return to have your lunch at Primate Lodge or Ndali lodge, after lunch, transfer to the Rwenzori mountains national park for a relaxed evening, Dinner and overnight at RMS camp(Rwenzori Mountaineering Servises Camp)
Day 6: Rwenzori mountains – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast drive to Nyakalengija trailhead (1600m). Make final arrangements for a guide and porters to begin an introductory hike up to Nyabitaba hut which is (2650M). Walk through the banana gardens on the side of the steep foothills past the typical Bakonjo homesteads. Follow the trail along the Mubuku River, through landslides and up and down rocks and bluffs. Cross the Mahoma River and climb steeply through bracken fern slopes and Podocarpus forest to Nyabitaba Hut for your lunch, relax a little and later gently return/ slope down to the trail head, and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park for a relaxed evening, swim etc, dinner and overnight at Mweya Safaris lodge 4*
Please note: This is simply an introductory climb/visit to the Rwenzori mountains and not time enough to hike the Rwenzori mountains that take up to 8days to climb to Margherita peak (5109m) and back.
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park (Game drive and boat ride)
After an early morning warm up tea or coffee, transfer for a game drive in search of animals like: lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mangoose, waterbucks, kobs and, if you’re lucky the leopard, and a number of bird species, this will see you return for a full breakfast, relax at your lodge into the lunch break and after lunch, enjoy a unique two hours boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This launch cruise gives you a great opportunity for photography, bird watching and game viewing at close range. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species recorded, return for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge 4*
Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National park – Parc National des Volcans (Rwanda)
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Parc National des Volcans (in Rwanda) via Kabale Kisoro through Cyanika border post arriving in Rwanda for a relaxed evening at the comfort of your hotel with breathe taking views of the mountains here. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge 5* or Virunga lodge 4*
Day 9: Gorilla trekking at Parc National des Volcans (Rwanda) – Iby’Iwacu cultural village
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Kinigi, home to Parc National des Volcans Offices. Here you will be briefed before commencing the once in a life time experience of trekking mountain gorillas. After this day’s adventure, you will transfer to Iby’Iwacu village located just around Parc National des Volcans. At the village, you will learn the cultural experience of the local people’s lifestyles, day-to-day activities, artifacts/crafts and ways of living of the local people. This evening, you will be treated with a trilling cultural performance, dances, singing, drumming among others and you are encouraged to join in the performances but advised to follow local customs. Dinner and Overnight at Iby’Iwacu village in local grass-thatched mud houses made of ancient architecture from the king’s style where you will have a chance to become a king for a night. Fresh local food is provided and guests have an opportunity to participate in traditional cooking experience among other activities in this village.
Day 10: Iby’Iwacu cultural village – Kigali (Airport transfer)
Today, we wake up as Kings and experience a rare chance to meet local people in their local environment, with a taste of their culture, traditions and belief. Take a community walk, guided by a community member, to visit different sites within the community. This tour offers an unforgettable insight into the everyday lives of the village communities. Visit the king’s house replica and all the Kings stories and meaning of all parts within the house, proceed to the Batwa pottery making, Artisans and crafts making factory. You will have your traditional lunch here before saying bye to this amazing village and proceed to one of Africa’s most clean cities- Kigali, if time allows, we shall visit Kigali genocide memorial centre, relax at Kigali Serena hotel before our airport transfer; Please note that this depends on your flight departure time.

1) Gorilla permit prices are subject to change without warning.
2) Prices for gorilla safaris are based on clients staying together.
3) Gorilla viewing is subject to availability of permits, which are limited.
4) Separate quotes are available, on request, for clients wishing to stay at other properties.
5) All gorilla permits need to be purchased at the time of booking or a deposit equivalent to 50% of the cost of the safari paid, whichever is higher.
6) We may customize any of our itineraries to suit you. You are at liberty to reduce or add a number of nights, change a hotel (upgrade/downgrade), change a given routing etc.
